Kathmandu: The Indian film Saltanat has been officially announced with the participation of Nepali film directors and artists, presented by Umar Production.

Based on a political conflict storyline, the movie is being regarded as the first major international collaborative project involving Nepali filmmakers.

The film will be directed by Sapendra Dhital and Tabrez Alam. Dhital, who has been active in both the Nepali and international film industries, has previously worked on foreign projects as well.

According to the production team, his experience is expected to help make the film world-class.

Actor Umar Khan, who previously gained popularity through Hostel-3, will appear as the lead actor, while Sapendra Dhital will be seen in the villain’s role.

Actress Sitoshna KC and Fiza Khan will also star in the film, along with several well-known Indian actors.

Preparations are underway for shooting in Lucknow, Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. The film is expected to take Nepal-India cinematic collaboration to a new level.

According to the producers, the project is centered around a contemporary political storyline and is also seen as an opportunity to expand Nepali cinema internationally and open doors to new possibilities.
